Emerging report reaching on Monday, indicates that the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, has announced a ban on alcohol sales in the country.
He also stated that mask-wearing would be mandatory in public, as the country becomes the first in Africa to record one million Covid-19 cases.
President Ramaphosa said during a televised speech, that alcohol would be temporarily banned from midnight, to help emergency services already under pressure.
He also announced that it would be “compulsory for every person to wear mask in public spaces”, saying that, it is a “drastic measure, now necessary”.
