The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has defended his principal, over his Thursday night national broadcast to the citizens, amid the chaos in the country,
Adesina, who was a Guest on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’, on Friday, said that President Buhari’s speech did not omit the Lekki toll gate shooting of peaceful EndSARS protesters, on Tuesday night.
The Presidential Spokesman, stated that contrary to the belief that President Buhari did not talk about the tragic incident in Lagos, the President’s message to the international community was on the shooting in Lekki.
“It was not omitted. That message to the international community was on Lekki shooting.
“It is not true. Somewhere in that speech, the President spoke to the international community. He thanked those who had sought understanding before they made comments.
“He was also telling those who were hasty in their judgement to seek more information. He did not miss out anything.”
Speaking also on the virtual meeting President Buhari held earlier today, with former Nigerian Presidents and Heads of States, Adesina stated that the former Leaders praised his President Buhari for addressing the shooting in Lagos.
