The very vocal Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has on Monday, mocked the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, over his Principal, former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of the Labour Party, LP, Candidate, Peter Obi, instead of him (Atiku), for the 2023 Presidency, .
Recall, that in a long New Year’s Day letter on Sunday, to Nigerians, Obasanjo described Peter Obi as the most qualified Candidate to be supported by all Nigerians for the 2023 Presidency, among all the other Candidates, including Atiku, who served under him from 1999 to 2007, as Vice President.
The Governor spoke at the flag-off of the construction of the Akpabu-Odido Road, in Emohua and Ahoada West Local Government Areas of the State.
Reacting, Governor Wike who is a member and Leader of the aggrieved G-5 PDP Governors, said exactly: “I was praying that Obasanjo should not say anything. When I saw the letter last night, I was touched. If your Principal cannot recommend you, then there is something fundamentally wrong.
“After all, you people went to see your Principal to lobby him to recommend you. It took your Principal a long time before he now wrote a letter to all Nigerians, saying, ‘Look, I am not too comfortable (with Atiku)’. I am not bothered about other people, but this one (Obasanjo) worked with you and he knows (why he took that decision).
“So, I am not the one who said this one or that one. Everyone should carry their problems and go where their problems are.
“Leave me alone. Leave Ortom alone. Leave G-5 Governors alone. Face your problem where your problem is.”
