The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Monday staged a  protest to  demand for a revisit and review of the Supreme Court judgement of Imo governorship election that sacked  Emeka Ihedioha and installed Senator Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

PDP National Working Committee (NWC) members, party stalwarts and others dressed in black converged on the party’s presidential campaign office, Maitama, Abuja, Monday around 10am carrying placards with inscriptions such as “No more justices in Nigeria judiciary system”, Where is the integrity of our Supreme Court judges”, “Stop victimising opposition”, “Imo Surprme Court judgement must be reversed,” ” our nation is governed by law not by brutality of cabals” Sai Democracy “, ” Where is the integrity in Buhari government ”  and ” Save Judiciary.’’

The protesters matched “matched to Eagle square at central area,’’ Abuja.

Series of protest were held in many parts of the country during the weekend by members of the PDP to register their displeasure on Supreme Court verdict that last Tuesday sacked Ihedioha.

National chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus who led the protest demanded that the Supreme Court judgement be revisit, review and reverse.

He said, “Today, we are here, very peaceful, nonviolent protest and demonstration so show that we are all Nigerians. PDP is the most peaceful party, and the largest party and well organised party in Africa. We’re here, under one God, under one nation, our nation is under the rule of law. We are a nation governed by law, therefore, all we are seeking today is for our very highly respected jurists at the highest court of the land.

Secondus continued: “We’re not against you, we’re against the error. And by the special grace of God, I know you will revisit the error. And all we are saying is that for you to review this error because the figures are not adding up. We therefore, called on the leadership of the judiciary, to please do the needful.

“Revisit and reverse the Imo state judgment because we believe that the figures are not adding up. That’s why we’re here so that the world will hear us. We are a democratic nation, and therefore, all democratic nations of the world are hearing us – United States, United Kingdom, even the United Nations, the African Union and ECOWAS. We believe that people at the highest court of the land will hear our cry today, and revisit, review, and if possible, reverse, the judgement.”
