Following the killing of about 22 passengers at Rukuba road in Jos North Local Government Area, who were reportedly to be Muslims returning from an event held in Bauchi state, the unfortunate incident did not go down well with Nigerians especially the Muslim faithful.
Recall that there were skirmishes on Saturday morning at Rukuba road area of Jos North LGA of Plateau State, which claimed many lives and left several others injured.
Reports say that 23 of those attacked lost their lives while 23 persons sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment. 26 others were said to have been rescued unhurt.
However, some Nigerians have given the incident a religious coloration with MURIC, an Islamic group, describing the attackers as “Christian terrorists” in a press release on Sunday.
Ibrahim Basiru, a Facebook user, said it is time to take a revenge war to those people because they have been killing Muslims in that area for long and no action was taken to stop it by the Federal government.
Below are the reactions:
Ibrahim Basiru, “This kind of killing had been happening for a long time in that area, since they don’t want peace we will not fold our hands and let this to continue we must take the war to them for them to fells what we are felling always after the killings. Government is not doing anything rather than condemnations, we have to protect our self by applying the same formula they are using on us.”
Kizito Ikenna Okeke, “Who said they were killed by Christian terrorist? Possibly the attackers assumed they were Christians from the Southwest.”
Ugo Awa, “Christianity doesn’t breed terrorism. Those youths were simply criminals who were hungry to express their frustration. This man is just looking for trouble as is expected”
