A front-runner for the 2023 Presidency under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi, has on Saturday, said that he has the solutions for Nigeria’s lingering problems, assuring Nigerians that anything he promises to do when he emerges as President, he will do it, .
Peter Obi stated this when some young Professionals led by Mr. Daniel Roberts, an Itshekiri from Warri, Delta State, presented him with the expression of interest and nomination forms of the PDP, for the 2023 Presidential election.
Roberts said that the group comprises of working class people who believe in an Obi 2023 Presidency.
While receiving the forms, surrounded by political Allies which included the Senator representing Anambra Central District, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Governorship Candidates of the PDP in 2017 and 2021, Hon. Oseloka Henry Obaze and Valentine Ozigbo, among others, Peter Obi revealed that in a few days, he will have a formal declaration ceremony for the Presidential race, during which he will roll out his manifesto.
His exact words: “We must get this country to work; we must build a better country for all of us, especially for the young ones.
“In the coming days, you will see my formal declaration and my manifesto, which I am committed to.
“Everything I am going to say, I will do it. I believe I have the qualification, I have the knowledge and capacity to turn this country around, especially for the youths of the country.”
Speaking further, Peter Obi stated that the problems of the country are surmountable, and that the first step to tackle insecurity is to work on the economy, and have people gainfully employed, noting that he has detailed plans to pull people out of poverty.
On the issue of having a Consensus Candidate among the Aspirants in the PDP, he said that they have been talking with each other, and that in the end, he may emerge as the Consensus Candidate of the party, as he enjoys strong support from across Nigeria.
