Kayode Ajulo, a Constitutional Lawyer, has stated that only 3 out of the numerous Politicians that have declared for the 2023 Presidency and purchased the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential nomination and expression of interest forms, are Constitutionally qualified to contest in the party’s forthcoming primary elections, .
He stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Tuesday, in Abuja.
His words: “From our preliminary examination of the Aspirants, only three Aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC) are Constitutionally qualified to run for the President’s Office.”
He however, declined to elaborate further, and to provide the names of the specific Aspirants who are qualified, as well as those who stand to be disqualified.
Ajulo speaking further, explained that he is not surprised at the number of Aspirants jostling to serve Nigeria, come 2023, adding that, the number is a far cry from his expectations.
He added: “Anyone with a good fortune could afford the price, and by the way, they are only Aspirants buying the nomination form. It is not an automatic process that will translate to fielding such Aspirants in the primaries, because they will have to be screened first.”
