The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has said that the sponsors and perpetrators of the senseless and incessant killings in Southern Kaduna, must be apprehended and prosecuted, so as to serve as a deterrent to others, and put to an end the decade-long carnage in the Southern part of Kaduna State,
He added that the age-long crisis continued unabated, because successive governments failed to prosecute the perpetrators, and those it described as ‘conflict entrepreneurs’.
He also expressed grave concern over the lingering crisis in Southern part of the State, while calling for restraint from all parties involved.
His words: “In addition, government must do everything possible to bring an end to the fracas, and change the narrative of violence to that of peace. It is time that culprits be identified and punished, so as to serve as deterrent.”
