The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has stated that a Christian must succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, come 2023, adding also that it is against a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 Presidential election, Page 36 learnt.
The National President of the PFN, Wale Oke, said this on Saturday, at the 30th Anniversary of the PFN establishment, in Osun State.
A statement by the Osun State PFN Director of Media, Bishop Seun Adeoye, quoted Oke as saying: “The Church in Nigeria is saying no to a Muslim-Muslim ticket. We are going to mobilise the Church against such a political party. PFN has 65 million people, and we will vote against such a party.
“Obasanjo handed over to Yar’adua, Yar’adua to Jonathan, and Jonathan to Buhari, and who else should Buhari hand over to, but a Christian.”
Oke also urged PFN members nationwide, to collect their Permanent Voters Cards, PVC, ahead of the general elections.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kaduna State Chapter, has called on 2023 Presidential Aspirant, Bola Tinubu, to pick the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as his running mate.
Recall, that both men are Muslims.
Speaking on behalf of the Kaduna State Delegates when Tinubu visited the State to lobby for votes, the Lawmaker representing Sabon Gari, Kaduna Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Ports and Harbours, Garba Babawo, said exactly: “We have a request for you (Tinubu), sir. What I am about to say, I did not tell our Governor, because I know if I tell him he would not support it. We want you to take our Governor as your running mate.
“We do not want him to go and settle outside the country after the election, because we know his plan. His plan is to leave the country and live overseas, after his tenure as the Governor. But we want him to serve the country as your running mate.”
