The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has on Wednesday, confirmed that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has been badly treated by the National Leadership of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, adding that nothing solid is being done to appeal to him not to defect from the party anytime soon,
Governor Ortom spoke on ARISE Television, calling on the PDP Leadership to take necessary action before it is too late.
His exact words: “Why do you just send calls to Wike, you should have to go to him.
“When people left the party, Wike was on ground. It was Wike that brought me back to PDP, when I was treated unjustly.
“He brought me back to PDP in 2015. You have treated Wike badly. The party at the national level should go to him and appeal to him. He came second to Atiku.”
Recall, that last week, Governor Wike held strategic meetings with the 2023 Presidential Candidates of the Labour Party, LP, and New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, respectively.
